Deadly Wildfire Scorches California

A wildfire almost three times the size of Manhattan burned more than 40,200 acres near Palm Springs , California, and killed five firefighters, injuring 13. The deadly fire destroyed 39 houses, 20 buildings and cost roughly $9.9 million.

Officials suspect arson was involved and have placed a $500,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
